How do you express your romanticism in your day to day life? Is it the jewelry you wear, a lovely scarf, special shoes, or a lovely neck piece? Let’s look at work in the shop that is distinctively inspired by romantic patterns evocative of perhaps the Victorian era and vintage images of a time gone-by. I think there are a few romantics amongst us in the group. Here we are:

The earrings above by Patsy Kay Kolesar make use of the oval, a gentle and soft shape, and vintage wallpaper patterns the likes found in Victorian parlours. The work says to me “aren’t I lovely?”

It seems that love was also on Flight Path Designs mind. There’s nothing like a heart to convey love & desire. Notice also the little buds up on top. Click on the image for a closer look or better yet come by the shop to see the images applied on these leather pieces, which by the way are surprisingly light. These are definitely for those of you who want to be noticed and are bolder in their actions.

The lovely, ever romantic piece above was a collaboration between Patsy Kolesar and Jen of twofolds textiles. Jen provided the silk, hand-dyed flowers and Patsy took them over and created a one-of-a-kind neck piece. There is a lot of depth of colour in the flower buds. The spiral ring shapes in between them are another representation of the flower while also recalling the rings we wear on our fingers. Love can be complicated and maybe this piece speaks to that.

And lastly, I took this picture of Patsy’s heart-shaped necklace on my journal which was inspired by her work. There is no mistake of the theme here. My journal idea came about as I was writing my ‘morning pages‘ in bed, as I do every day, and thinking of the thoughts that must be going through my partners head. He probably often wonders if I am writing about him. More journals on this topic coming in the following months. Meanwhile, this journal is available also in charcoal and a lovely pink (only one left of each).
I hope you’ll find some inspiration here to add a romantic touch to your life.
Come on by only 7 days left for our pop-up shop.
